A year ago today I woke up, made sure I had everything I needed for the next stage of my life. We packed the car and drove down to the airport. Everything in my body shook with anxiety and I couldn’t believe that I was finally making my dream come true. After the most emotional hug I ever gave my mom, I walked through security and started on the biggest journey of my life.
A year ago I took a plane and made it to the land of my dreams, Italy.
A year later I am missing this place that stole my heart, but glad to be where I am now. I can say in the past year I lost and found myself, and couldn’t be happier because I finally found myself and it led me to someone to balance me out.
Italy, we had our ups and downs but you changed me and I love you. Wait for me
“Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”—Marc Hack (via blua)
“Somebody loves you if they don’t mind the quiet. They don’t mind running errands with you or cleaning your apartment while blasting some annoying music. There’s no pressure, no need to fill the silences. You know how with some of your friends there needs to be some sort of activity for you to hang out? You don’t feel uncomfortable just shooting the shit and watching bad reality TV with them. You need something that will keep the both of you busy to ensure there won’t be a void. That’s not love. That’s “hey babe! I like you okay. Do you wanna grab lunch? I think we have enough to talk about to fill two hours!” It’s a damn dream when you find someone you can do nothing with. Whether you’re skydiving together or sitting at home and doing different things, it’s always comfortable. That is fucking love.”—Thought Catalog, How To Tell If Someone Loves You (via itsbeenabeautifulfight)
